StudioRIP has a post-RIP imposition system, which means that the imposition will be done on the processed and rasterized data rather than on the source PS/PDF files. Thus the various data integrity problems of PS/PDF based imposition software are eliminated (it is impossible for the content of the pages to be changed by the imposition).
StudioRIP comes with a rich set of imposition features:
Imposition style library
A built-in library of commonly used imposition styles such as 2 × 2 book or saddle stitched magazine impositions comes with StudioRIP.
Custom imposition styles
Users can define custom imposition styles, which can be saved for future use.
Flexibility
The imposition styles allow the user to define imposition schemes even page by page, if the built-in common techniques are not suitable for the required scheme.
Automatic imposition
Built-in or custom imposition styles can be applied on-the-fly (i.e. the first sheet will be imaged while others are processed) or after processing.
Manual imposition
Pages and pre-press marks can be manually placed, or automatic impositions can be manually modified,
Pre-press marks
Built-in library as well as user definable marks (users can define not just the design of the marks, but also complex placement rules).
Bleed
Using PDF files, bleed will be correctly recognized and used in imposition; Postscript files can be expanded and then cropped for bleed generation.
One interface
Imposition is done in the same StudioRIP environment, using the same interface, preview system and job management controls.
Pixel level control
Imposition can be examined down to pixel level, including the placement on the media (plate or film).
